Town Clerk
The Saxmundham Town Council is served
by a Town Clerk who works on a full time basis. The Clerk's role
is a remunerated one whereas every Council member gives of his or
her time and experience on a voluntary basis.
The Town Clerk is the "proper officer" of the Council and, as such,
is often at the forefront of the Council's contact with the general
public.
All enquiries concerning the current
and ongoing work of the Town Council should be made through the
Clerk in the first instance.
Maddie Gallop has been
Town Clerk since the 4th April 2005. She obtained her CiLCA (Certificate
in Local Council Administration) in January 2007 and has recently
obtained Quality Status for the town of Saxmundham.
