Parks & Playgrounds

There is a small playground for younger children off Chantry Road, a play area for older children in Seaman Avenue, and a larger adventure playground on the Carlton Park grounds. The town also has a public recreation ground on the Memorial Field on Rendham Road.

Chantry Road Play Area
There is small but well-eqipped play area in Chantry Road near the centre of town and accessed via New Cut. New play equipment and 'safety surfaces' have recently been installed and the boundary fences are to be replaced in the near future. Most of the equipment is intended for younger children under parental supervision.

Seaman Avenue Playground
There is a play area that adjoins the Memorial Field and can be accessed from Seaman Avenue or the Memorial Field. It is intended for children up to 14 years old without supervision.

Carlton Park Adventure Playground
The adventure playground is situated at the west end of the Carlton Park grounds and is open to the public all year round. It has several climbing frames, slides and swings as well as picnic tables and is fenced off from the rest of the park providing a secure area for children to play.

For further information about the Adventure Playground, please contact Pauline White on 01728 602496.

Saxmundham Memorial Recreation Ground
The Memorial Field is located on Rendham Road and is the largest public open space in the town. It was established by public subscription to commemorate those men and women of Saxmundham who gave their lives in World War I.
