Empowering Nature
Empowering Nature is a community-led initiative that sets out a vision for meaningful green investment in Saxmundham and the surrounding area, should the proposed energy projects for our area be approved.
We invite you to read the proposal and share your views!
While the Town Council remains opposed to the siting of converter stations in this area, we believe it is essential to have a positive and credible plan in place for what our communities should receive in return if the projects proceed.

Saxmundham Strategic Plan 2025 - 2030

The Town Council have been working on their long-term Strategic Plan.
This document sets out how we will work to serve Saxmundham and its community over the next five years, what we will prioritise and how we aim to deliver these objectives.
This is an important document for everyone that lives, works and spends time in Saxmundham and it will impact how the Town Council allocates its budget, works with the community, responds to development, and safeguards the town’s heritage.
Therefore, everyone in our community should have the opportunity to shape the Strategic Plan. We want to know your views!
How to respond:
Please read the plan and tell us what you think. You can download a copy below or view a printed version at the Library, Market Hall and Town House.
Responses can be sent via email, by using a comment slip provided in the Library or Town House, or in person at one of our public sessions.
Questions to consider:
- Do you feel the draft Strategic Plan reflects the identity and aspirations of the community?
- How can we better support local businesses and encourage new ones?
- What improvements would you like to see to the Town Centre, access, parking or public spaces?
- What improvements could be made to community facilities, healthcare provision, or walking and cycling routes?
- What local environmental improvements would you most like to see?
