This exhibition continues The Art Station’s commitment to showcasing contemporary sculptural practice that challenges perceptions of craft and fine art.

Most towns in Brittany have a fest noz in the summer often weekly where the whole community meets up\, dances\, socialises and has a drink or two. There will be lots of people who will show you the steps. It appeals to both young and old\, if you don’t fancy dancing\, come along and just enjoy the wonderful music. Bringing a slice of Brittany to Saxmundham. \nBof!\nIn 2000 Bof! started playing as a four piece band specialising in traditional French and Breton music for dancing and listening to. During this time they have played in folk clubs\, for dance groups and at festivals in England and France. The band’s repertoire is mainly traditional music from Central France and Brittany\, but also include compositions by members of the band and others. Bringing a slice of Brittany to Saxmundham. \nLes Hirondelles\nThis band joined us last season and it was a cracking night!\nLes Hirondelles formed following an encounter at the Folk East Sandlings sessions in February 2018\, to play french and breton music. Drawing influences from the English\, European and Irish folk traditions\, indie and classical music. They have a unique driving sound and innovative arrangements aimed to get everyone on their feet. Emma Hardy and Pete Sewell (fiddles)\, Vicky Lambert (flute and whistle) and Tom hardy (guitar).\nPete and Vicky were the organisers of Bungay Folk Festival held on 6th\, 7th and 8th September.

DESCRIPTION:Art Station Film returns from a summer break with a trilogy of coastal films by artist Phil Coy. Phil Coy’s practice is a collage of hybrid materials\, concepts and processes that oscillate between film\, photographic series\, sculpture\, sound\, public works\, text works and performance. \nHis films have been shown at galleries\, film festivals and for site-specific and public commissions in the UK and internationally including: Matt’s Gallery\, London; Hayward Gallery\, London; Whitechapel Gallery\, London; South London Gallery; Institute of Contemporary Arts\, London and many more. \nWe are delighted that he will be presenting this recently finished trilogy of short films for us in person. One not to be missed!
