Cllr Georgina Burns

I have strong family ties in Suffolk and have proudly called Saxmundham my home since 2015. With a background in Performing Arts, I founded an award-winning Performing Arts school in 2008, where I teach children from 18 months to 18 years. Recently, I was honoured to be a finalist for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Club Hub Awards 2025 for my dedication to working with children. My school was also a finalist for the Independant Business of the Year Award 2025 . I am also a mother of twin boys who attend Thomas Mills, and our family includes six cats, a golden retriever named Charlie, and my husband Phil.

As a business owner since 1997, I previously operated two retail shops before focusing entirely on my passion for the arts and my school now serves around 800 attendees each week. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming and going to the gym in Leiston, theatre, tap dancing and taking long walks in our beautiful countryside. As a child, I spent many afternoons on Westleton Heath and Dunwich Forest, bug hunting with my uncle, who was an entomologist. I live in North Entrance and absolutely love Saxmundham. I hope my skills and experience as a business owner, a devoted mum, and my commitment to working with children will be valuable to our community.
