Laura Purina

I’velived in Sax for just four years and I love it: the town, its friendly people, the shops and the wonderful local produce. I chair the Council’s Resources Committee and I’m particularly interested in developing the town centre, improving the station area and making the High Street better for pedestrians.

You may already know me as the person who checks out your shopping or who you chat with at the bus stop. I have listened to what hundreds of you said and now can make your voice heard at the table, too.

After 15 years living all over east Suffolk, I adore it and wish to make the grass even greener for us all here. Coming from an immigrant Latvian working-class background, I want to bring values such as resourcefulness and helping each other to the broader community more.

My life experiences have been diverse and my interests are varied, helping me deliver a holistic approach. In my spare time, I solo travel, garden and I am an artist. I also self-study subjects such as science, languages, medicine and history.
