Saxmundham Annual Town Meeting 2025: Your Chance to Hear, Ask and Be Heard
Saxmundham’s Annual Town Meeting will take place on Thursday 22 May 2025, and all residents are warmly invited to attend. The meeting starts at 6.00pm and will be held at Saxmundham Market Hall.
This is an important annual event in the town calendar and provides a valuable opportunity for local people to hear about what has been happening across Saxmundham over the past year – and to share their views on the issues that matter most to them.
What is an Annual Town Meeting?
The Annual Town Meeting is not a Town Council meeting. Instead, it is a meeting of the electorate of the parish. Anyone who lives in Saxmundham is welcome to attend, listen, ask questions and take part in discussions.
The meeting exists to give residents a direct voice, to hear updates from different levels of local government, and to raise matters of local concern in an open public forum.
What will happen at Saxmundham’s 2025 meeting?
At this year’s meeting, attendees will hear:
Reports from Suffolk County Council and East Suffolk Council, providing insight into work and decisions affecting Saxmundham.
Presentations from local organisations, sharing updates on their activities within the town.
An address from Jenny Riddell-Carpenter MP, who will be present to discuss current challenges facing Saxmundham and the wider area.
There will also be a public participation session, which is your opportunity to have your say on any topic you feel is important. Whether you have a question, a concern, or an idea for the future of the town, this is the space to raise it.
Light refreshments will be available.
